TEMPE, Ariz. – June, 11, 2009 – ESS, the leading provider of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Crisis Management software for enterprise sustainability, today announced that a leading U.S. electric utility company has chosen the Essential Suite® integrated EH&S platform to streamline its EH&S compliance processes - including greenhouse/carbon gas reporting.
The company is implementing ESS' enterprise solution at several of its power generating plants to address a full spectrum of EH&S business challenges, including air, water and waste emission management; health and safety incident tracking and OSHA compliance; and EH&S performance management.
"Many U.S. utility companies find themselves burdened by mounting regulatory requirements - including the proposed U.S. EPA greenhouse gas reporting proposal - while trying to execute on their operational goals," said Robert Johnson, ESS President and CEO. "ESS' software solutions enable organizations in the electric utility sector to reduce the costs and risks that are associated with environmental reporting while transforming compliance into an opportunity for competitive advantage."
Since 1993, ESS has provided software platforms that deliver verifiable information to support complex EH&S regulatory compliance and voluntary reporting requirements. In addition, the company has been at the forefront of air emissions and GHG/carbon data management, as evidenced by a recent analyst report listing ESS as an "emerging leader" among providers of enterprise carbon accounting software systems.
